Abstract

The implementation of the High Line in NYC raised adjacent housing values by 35%. Premium was largest for the first section of the High Line. The premium was captured by those homes above first-floor level. Failure to consider existing residents exacerbated eco-gentrification. Improving or adding to existing green space helps to temper gentrification forces.
