History
Ultraman Dyna
Hiroyuki Yamazaki was the assistant to Dr. Otomo, the mad scientist who created Neosaurus. Yamazaki sought to enhance the bodies of Earth’s lifeforms and exact revenge against Super GUTS. To begin his plan, he stole a sample of Evolu Cells, which he had modified himself, and later used them to create Clone Daigelun. After Clone Daigelun was destroyed, Yamazaki threatened to release a warhead containing the perfected Evolu Cells across the globe.
Super GUTS dispatched Kenji Fudo and Shin Asuka into space to an asteroid where Yamazaki was transmitting his threat. The duo landed in a secret hangar and located the warhead. After shooting down soldiers created from the Evolu Cells, they confronted Yamazaki. The mad scientist trapped Shin and convinced Kenji to disarm. In the ensuing struggle, both Kenji and Yamazaki wounded each other with gunfire. Desperate, Yamazaki injected himself with a syringe containing the modified Evolu Cells, transforming into the monstrous cyborg, Zomborg.
Asuka quickly transformed into Ultraman Dyna to battle Zomborg and stop the warhead. However, Zomborg managed to delay Dyna, bringing the warhead closer to Earth. Undeterred, Dyna used the Solgent Beam to destroy Zomborg and successfully prevented the warhead from reaching Earth, ending both Yamazaki and the threat of the Evolu Cells.
Trivia
- Because the Evolu Cells he used were more refined, Zomborg lacked Evolu's ability to absorb electricity, as he did not need to do so.
- The extendable arms concept would be reused for Sadola's appearance in Ultraman Mebius.
- Zomborg's design is to pay tribute to the kaijin Jamila.
- The Zomborg Soldiers' helmets were reused from Kahn Digifer's combatants.
Ultraman Decker
The Zomborg Soldiers were security robots built by the TPU to protect their base on the Moon, which was used for space exploration purposes. However, the attack of the Spheres left the base defunct, and the robots were deactivated. The Spheres then took over the base to use it as a nest. Akito Hijiri detected the presence of the Spheres there and sent Kengo Manaka to investigate, but before that, he had to rescue Kanata Asumi from the Spheres in space, having been sent there by Yapool. Yapool managed to find the two of them there and reactivated the Zomborg Soldiers to fight them for him, but they were easily dealt with even with Kengo and Kanata in their human forms. It is unknown what became of the Zomborg Soldiers after the Spheres destroyed the moon base, but it is likely that the robots perished along with it. Warriors on the Moon
Trvia
- Despite the name, this iteration of Zomborg Soldiers lack any relation to the Evolu Cells.
- As a distinction to the incarnation from Dyna, the Zomborg Soldiers receive protective gears to their uniforms. Some of them are reused from Xio's protective gear that its members wear over their uniforms during combat. Their masks are recycled from the Zomborg Soldiers, although only two were discovered and used at the time of filming.
