Pic begins lensing Tuesday
On the heels of wrapping the Warner Bros./Morgan Creek comedy Western “American Outlaws,” thesp Ali Larter will segue into the role of a woman on trial for her husband’s murder in the Reese Witherspoon starrer “Legally Blonde.”
The comedy, which begins lensing Tuesday, concerns an ex-sorority queen (Witherspoon) who, after being dumped, decides to follow her former boyfriend to law school only to find that she has a knack for practicing law.
Pic — an adaptation of Amanda Brown’s novel — will be helmed by first-time feature director Robert Luketic, whose 1997 Australian short “Titsiana Booberini” took top honors in the best student comedy category at the Aspen Shortsfest in 1998.
Larter was last seen in the New Line thriller “Final Destination.” She has also had roles in the Paramount/MTV football drama “Varsity Blues” and Warner Bros.’ “House on Haunted Hill.”
