TORONTO — Kids’ animation producer CineGroupe and Lions Gate are producing two new animated TV series, “The Three Pigs” and “Edward.”
Not to be confused with the porcine fairy tale of old, “The Three Pigs” follows a country pig named Mickey who crosses the tracks to live with his dysfunctional urban cousins. The 26-part half-hour series is in the end stages of production.
Also nearing completion is “Edward.” Based on the series of books by Canuck author Pierre Legare, “Edward” follows the day-to-day adventures of the title character in his quest to discover the meaning of life.
Both series are slated to air later this season on Teletoon in Canada. In addition, “Pigs” will run on Fox Kids France and ProSieben in Germany.
The new shows join CineGroupe’s current slate, which includes the live action series “Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension,” as well as “Wunschpunsch,” “Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat,” “What’s With Andy?” and “Ripping Friends.”
