Thesp on the ‘Case’

David Arquette will star in the ABC laffer pilot “In Case of Emergency,” while Lenny Clarke (“The Job”) has joined Fox’s “Becoming Glen.”

Also, Lesley Ann Warren, most recently seen in “Desperate Housewives,” is set for the USA Network pilot “In Plain Sight,” while Peter Facinelli (“Fast Lane”) has been added to ABC’s “Enemies” and Sam Shepard and Frank Whaley will star in the ESPN telepic “Ruffian.”

On “In Case of Emergency,” Arquette will play Jason Ventress, a businessman who attempts suicide after becoming embroiled in a corporate scandal. He winds up shooting himself in the foot but finds sympathy in others who also find themselves at a life crossroads (played by Greg Germann, Kelly Hu and Jonathan Silverman).

Touchstone TV is behind “Emergency,” which will be directed by Jon Favreau (who’s also exec producing with Emile Levisetti).

Arquette and his wife, Courtney Cox, are both stationed at Touchstone, where their Coquette Prods. label is behind the FX pilot “Dirt.” He also recently directed and wrote “The Tripper” and will appear in CBS’ “Timebomb.”

Meanwhile, Clarke — who most recently appeared as Uncle Teddy on “Rescue Me” — will play Ron, opposite Julie Hagerty and Rob Corddry, on “Glen.”

Twentieth Century Fox TV is behind the show. Clarke’s recent credits also include the feature “Fever Pitch.”

In other pilot news:

• Warren will play Jinx, the sexy, unconventional mother of Mary McCormack’s character, on “In Plain Sight.” Jinx provides some extra angst for her daughter, who already has her hands full as a U.S. marshal.

Beyond “Housewives,” Warren’s other recent credits include the features “Secretary” and “The Limey.”

• Facinelli will play John Graham, a police officer, in “Enemies.”

Project, about best friends who grow up to be rivals — one an FBI agent, the other a mob boss — also stars Jeffrey Donovan, Bruce McGill, Amanda Righetti and Bess Wohl.

Facinelli was seen in the features “Stealing Time,” “The Scorpion King” and “Riding in Cars With Boys.”

Also, Tony To has been added as an exec producer on “Enemies” alongside Sean Bailey and Ken Olin.

• “Madea’s Family Reunion” thesp Boris Kodjoe has signed on to star as Brad, a narcissistic ladies’ man, in Fox’s “If You Lived Here, You’d Be Home Now.”

CBS Paramount Network TV pilot also stars Zac Efron (“High School Musical”) as Cody, a teen who moves to L.A. with his mom; Michael Simpson (“It’s All About Love”) as Scott, a happy guy whose world takes a turn for the worse; and Reg Rogers (“Analyze That”) as Curtis, a mysterious man lacking social skills.

• Tyler Christopher (“Into the West”) will play Grant in ABC’s “Secrets of a Small Town.”

Touchstone TV drama is about secrets that emerge when tragic events take place in a small town. Christopher also appeared in “General Hospital” and “Boomtown.”

• Orla Brady (“Hustle”) will star as Kate, the wife of David James Elliott’s character, in ABC’s drama pilot “Sixty Minute Man.”

Sarah Jones and Colm Meaney also star in the skein, which revolves around a man who discovers he’s in the middle of a government conspiracy.

Brady’s credits also include “Empire” and “Revelations.”

• Shepard will star as racehorse trainer Frank Whiteley in “Ruffian,” while Whaley will play sports writer Bill Nack.

“Ruffian” is slated to first air on ABC in June 2007, timed to the Belmont Stakes, before repeating on ESPN. Project is based on the true story of one of the greatest racehorses of all time.

Shepard will next be seen in feature “The Assassination of Jesse James” alongside Brad Pitt, while Whaley will appear in the Oliver Stone film “World Trade Center.”
