Welcome to ASTeC - The UK's Centre of Expertise for Accelerator Science and Technology.

Charged particle accelerators are at the centre of a great many scientific instruments, including a range of large scale facilities. These include advanced systems for particle and nuclear physics, neutron, synchrotron light sources and free electron lasers.

Staff at the Centre have expertise in all types of accelerator and participate both in design studies and construction projects. There is also a programme of world class underpinning Research & Development studies.
