What is Epistula?
Epistula is to AmigaOS what GAIM is to Linux and Windows. For people not in the know, GAIM is an instant messenger application which can handle a variety of IM protocols, for example Microsoft MSN, AOL AIM and Yahoo Messenger.

Similar applications are available, such as JabberWocky, which can provide a similar service but they usually require setting up alternative accounts. Epistula provides the user with an interface which allows you to log straight onto your favourite protocol. However, unlike GAIM, and indeed JabberWocky, Epistula is written in a modular fashion in that each protocol is a plugin which can be written, installed, and updated, separately from the main application and other plugins.

One of the main reasons I started to write Epistula was because I couldnt be bothered with Jabber... I cant be the only one... can I?
