Biblical Allusions in the Hodayot, Dead Sea Scrolls
Biblical Allusions in the Hodayot
What are the poetic features of the Hodayot (thanksgiving) Psalms from Qumran? What is the relation between the Hodayot and the Bible? When may we call such a relation an allusion, a quotation, a conflation of quotes or an interlacement of allusions? What is the purpose of allusions to the Bible? What do we gain by reading the Hodayot against the Bible, and what did their author wish to gain, if anything?
