Surface Warfare Division

The Surface Warfare Division of OPTEVFOR is responsible for the planning and execution of operational test and evaluation of U. S. Navy surface ships and associated engineering, auxiliary, combat systems, and systems developed under the U. S. Coast Guard Deepwater Acquisition. Systems undergoing operational test and evaluation encompass all facets of surface warfare, including the LPD 17 program, the DDG 51 program, AEGIS Combat System, Cooperative Engagement Capability, Ship Self-Defense Systems, Strategic Sealift, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, and Cruise Missiles.

AREA AIR DEFENSE SECTION

The Area Air Defense Section of OPTEVFOR is responsible for planning and executing Operational Test and Evaluation of U. S. Navy Medium and Long Range Air Defense Systems.

The Total Ship - Combatant/Combat Logistics Force Section of OPTEVFOR is responsible for planning and executing Operational Test and Evaluation of U. S. Navy Surface Combatants and Strategic Sealift ships.

U. S. COAST GUARD INTEGRATED DEEPWATER SYSTEM

The Integrated Deepwater System Section of OPTEVFOR is responsible for planning and executing Operational Test and Evaluation of U. S. Coast Guard surface, aviation, command and control, and logistics assets developed as part of the Integrated Deepwater System.

The Surface Warfare Analysis Section of OPTEVFOR is responsible for analytical support for all Surface Warfare projects. Analysts also provide expertise in Modeling and Simulation.
