Hobbies
Hunting, climbing

Goals for
2008

I don’t want to take part in competitions my whole life... That is why I want to give it all I’ve got in the next few years. And then I want to concentrate on projects as I’ve already done with DYNAFIT. I find these kind of achievements more interesting.

What fascinates you most about
skitouring?
I began skiing at a very young age. At the age of 8, I was already doing cross-country skiing with my father. What I like now is to cover great distances alone or with good friends and always with this feeling of freedom. Moreover the beauty of the mountain landscapes still fascinates me. In short, I like to leave traces on an untouched slope, to pass from one valley to another in spring...

Goals for
2008

I have already achieved a significant goal in that I will take my place on the starting line for Dynafit International during the 2008 season. I hope that I will be able to further improve my performances, especially at MountainAttack and SellaRonda. I would like to push ahead with my training, especially in mountain environments, in order to be able to overcome all challenges at a technical level as well.

What fascinates you most about
skitouring?
Four or five years ago I observed Andi Ringhofer at PlanaiXTreme in Schladming as a spectator on the sidelines. I was fascinated by his performance and could not imagine climbing Planai at 3x racing speed. Next year I took my place at the starting line of the competition and came in seventh place in the marathon as the youngest participant. I have been fascinated with ski-mountain climbing ever since!

Hobbies
Alpine-style ski, sport in general, gardens and how to design them, photography

Goals for winter 2008/09
To win the European championships and Pierrag Menta, but also to go on nice outings in the mountains

What fascinates you most about skitouring?
To see how one often underestimates one’s capabilities. During the high road plus record (from Chamonix to Alagna via Zermatt, that is 10500m of slopes and 140 km, in 3 days) I realised that I was capable of much more than I thought possible beforehand. On crossing the finish line, I felt an enormous satisfaction, likewise on arrival at the finish line during the world championships. What is equally fantastic is to always be among beautiful landscapes and in nature.

What means to you being part of the Dynafit International Team?
I am very happy to be part of the Dynafit international team. I think that with the athletes’ involvement in the design, we can develop products that are really outstanding and best adapted to cross-country ski. I take great pleasure in being part of it from its design stage up to the almost daily use of the products.
Moreover, I like the products designed by Dynafit a lot; they are outstanding and very beautiful!

Do my best in the World Championships 2007.
Skiing lots of powder snow.
Doing a nice and fast Patrouille des Glaciers with Killian and Nico.

What fascinates you most in ski-mountaineering?
Getting to inaccessible places places. Such as the north face of Mulhacen (Sierra Nevada) and watching Afrika from the the summit.

And of course the lightness and speed.

Hobbies
All kinds of skiimg (ski touring, alpine, tele, nordic), kayaking, mt biking, surfing, hiking, ice climbing.......I try not to descriminate.

What fascinates you most in ski-mountaineering?
I enjoy traveling to warm, exotic places but am always relieved to return to the mountains.  I grew up in the mountains and they are where I feel most at home.  They are the landscape with which I have the greatest connection and strongest interaction.  And, for me there is no interaction with my surroundings more intimate than when I am on skis.

Hobbies

Aims for 2008

To increase the awareness of Dynafit in North America, to tell their story
and share their passion for skiing mountaineering successes.  To become
more involved in ski mountaineering clinics, websites and races so I
can continue to help spread the sport.  Finally, to share the
simplicity, ease and ingenuity of Dynafit to all the ski mountaineers
who still carry too much weight uphill with their anitquated skies,
boots and bindings.

What fascinates you most about ski mountaineering?
It will always be the grandeur and personality of the mountains.  Nothing
can make me feel more humble than climbing a mountain.  And more
super-human.
