In simple terms there are now eight major theme parks, that are generally reckoned to be essential holiday fare, and at least one of those will require two days to make you feel it has been well and truly done. Add on a day at one of the water parks, a trip to see some of the wildlife or other more natural attractions, and the lure of nearby Kennedy Space Centre, and youre talking at least 12 days of pure adventure-mania. Then mix in the night time attractions of Downtown Disney, Universals CityWalk and a host of dinner shows, and you get an idea of the awesome scale of the entertainment on offer. Even given two weeks, something has to give. So, how do we innocents abroad, many of us making our first visit to the good ol USA, get value from what is still, without doubt, a truly magical holiday? There is no set answer of course, but there are some pretty solid guidelines to steer you in the right direction and help avoid some of the more obvious pitfalls. Central to most of them is PLANNING. Dont be inflexible, but be aware of the time demands of the main parks, and give yourself a few quiet days by the pool or at one of the smaller attractions to recover your strength. With so much on offer, it simple isnt possible to do it all, so try to ensure that you get full value for what you do decide to do. Also, be aware of the vast scale and complexity of this wonderland, and try to take in as much of the clever detail and breadth of imagination on offer, especially in the Disney parks.
