Abwain town located to the north-west of the city of Ramallah, 37 km away from tracking administratively ِِAbwain municipality , rising from the sea surface 600 m received by local, away from the main road of 1.2 km, the area around the village of Urban 1600 dunums.    It may be the name Abwain came from the root (Aoub), which benefit Semitic secret and darkness, and (Aba) Syriac Harrache sense.

 
The land area of about 16200 dunums of cultivated lands and takes olive territory villages Ammouriya, Alluban Al-Sharqiya Jilijia, Salwad, Atara, Ajjoul, and Aroura.

  The most important fruit tree plantings in the village olives, figs, grapes, apples, goitre, Pear, and planted vegetables different abundance of water there. In the village and 13 fount edges needs maintenance.

  The population of the village in 1922 about 543 people, in 1945 880 people, and aggression after the June 1967 amounted to a population census by the Zionist 1001 people, this number had risen up in 1987 about 1672 people and the number of inhabitants until 5000 inhabitants in 2006, due Population Al-Tafilah origins to the village of East Bank.
