Has Dr. Kent Hovind’s dissertation finally been found? Truth or Fiction?
With the unveiling of Wikipedia’s new site
“Wikileaks”, which seeks the “Latest Leaks and
Censored Media”, has come the “never-before-revealed”
Kent Hovind dissertation from Patriot Bible University. But is this the
real thing?
Worldwide attention has been drawn to this explosive revelation.
There
are reports of “scientific” investigators who have faked
phone call inquiries (pretending to be a prospective student)
while secretly recording the conversation to produce a YouTube movie
belittling Patriot! Journalist blogger’s and other scientists
have reviewed and posted comments on Dr. Hovind’s
“dissertation”.
Has this mysterious dissertation finally been unearthed?
For the answer to that question, we travel back in time almost two
decades pre-internet and prior to widespread use of personal
computers...
...a time when Dr. Hovind and Patriot Bible University were not so
famous...a time when attacks by evolutionists had not yet risen to the
feverish pitch present today.
One day Patriot received a call from a “Hovind admirer”...
The
caller gushed over Hovind and begged to have Hovind’s
dissertation. When told that Patriot does not retain student works he
begged for “..anything you have by Hovind...I just love him so
much I’ll take anything you have...”. In Patriot’s
naivete a ROUGH DRAFT of his dissertation PROJECT was sent to the
caller.
To Patriot’s amazement, a scientist even reviewed the rough
paste-up draft and gave a critique! From there, others posted it on
their website in order to belittle Dr. Hovind and squash him out of the
public arena of debate between evolutionists and creationists.
We at Patriot are astounded over this world-wide search for Hovind’s dissertation; website traffic from 93 countries!
We never cease to be amazed at the hatred leveled at Hovind. We have come to understand it to be a spiritual battle. There are websites and blogs devoted to destroying Hovind and Patriot Bible University. It is not because Patriot is the only non-regionally accredited college teaching the Bible.
Due to the increased
misinformation, Patriot feels compelled to publicly express the facts
surrounding Hovind’s dissertation.
- Patriot does not retain ownership to student thesis’ or dissertations, as is commonly practiced by many schools. Instead, Patriot grants each student full control over the circulation of his/her work. Therefore, Patriot cannot release student work to the public. Patriot issues Bible degrees for the purpose of equipping students for ministry; Patriot is not a research institution.
- Hovind’s
dissertation was part of a graduate “project”. Thus, the
paper being posted online was only a portion of Hovind’s initial
research notes for his dissertation requirements. It is obviously not a finished product.
- Hovind has been a prolific publisher of videos and books on topics involving Biblical Creation. He has participated in numerous video-taped debates. His work since 1991 has been widely distributed and stands on it’s own and supercedes an earlier written dissertation. There is no need to attack it and ignore what he has produced since then.
The controversy and battle over Hovind's dissertation is not about the quality of his work. It is a spiritual battle over worldview. Evolution v. Creation. Man's "knowledge" or God's Word.
God has given each of us a free choice on what we believe and which God we serve. Our choice has eternal ramifications.
For Patriot’s part,
we’d simply like to say; “In the beginning, God created the
heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1.
We would also like to invite you to investigate the case for Jesus
Christ. The reasons are compelling. The Bible says there will come a
day of judgment where everyone whose name is found in the Book of Life
will live and reign with Him. Those whose have chosen to reject the
Savior will be cast into the lake of fire FOR ETERNITY. That is a long
time. There are no “do-overs”. Eternity is longer than the
17 billion years evolution claims for the present age of the earth.
God has sent His Son to pay the price for our sins. Open your heart to Him.
