In 2000 & 2009, Mr. Tobin was granted multi-point patents in U.S., Canada, Europe, & Asia. Through patents developed by Mr. Tobin, PC Flowers & Gifts invented the ability to provide tracking, Affiliate Marketing & customized “co-branded” flower and gift services for many of the largest sites on the Internet. Over 2,700 Affiliate Marketing Partners by 1998. Sold in May 2000 to Federated Department Stores
P.C. Flowers, Inc was the first financially successful interactive electronic commerce service in the U.S. with sales in excess of $6,000,000 by 1991.
PC Flowers, Inc., linked FTD’s 25,000 member florists to the Prodigy Network and became the most successful service on the Prodigy Network.

As Lyme disease became a major health threat in the United States, Mr. Tobin founded Instruments of Sweden, Inc. Mr. Tobin produced, marketed & patented a medical instrument for safe removal of deer ticks, to help prevent transmission of Lyme disease that has been acknowledged by the most prominent research scientists in Europe and the United States as the only safe way to remove ticks and help prevent the spread of Lyme disease.
*Concept Communication, Inc. 1984
Concept Communications, Inc. revolutionized the video teleconferencing industy by replacing a 100-pound computer that produced 18 frames per second and cost $100,000 with a patented 17-ounce circuit board that produced 30 frames per second and cost $12,000.
*Software Concepts, Inc. 1978
Software Concepts became an acknowledged industry leader in the field of software development. Mr. Tobin's company developed Map downloading for the CIA and one of the first patented software programs in the U.S for a spelling verification program for most major word-processing and photo-typesetting systems, including Lanier, Philips, and Xerox to name a few.

Cal Pak replaced the expensive and inefficient metal dispensers with cost-effective, efficient plastic dispensers for disposable cups and napkins. Mr. Tobin’s patented solution continues to be utilized today.

Concept Industries, Inc., one of the most successful technical training companies in the United States developed computer software training programs, used by most major word-processing and photo-typesetting systems, including Compugraphic, Lanier, Olivetti, Philips USA, Radio Shack, Royal Typewriter, Savin, and Xerox to name a few.

Travel Concepts, Inc. provided educational games for children and the development of the first travel kits for distribution in First Class and Business Class cabins on most major airlines. These programs were adopted and have been utilized by most major airlines for over 25 years.
