Highlights of the 1995 Philippine Population Census The total population of the Philippines as of Sep. 1, 1995 is 68,616,536 The 1995 population increased by 7,910,956 over the 1990 census figure (with May 1, 1990 as reference date)   The population grew at the rate of 2.32 % annually in the first half of the nineties. This is 0.03 percentage point lower than the annual geometric census growth rate during the eighties. Average annual growth rate of the population 1960-1970:    3.08 %   °°°°°°°°°° 1970-1975:    2.78 %   °°°°°°°°    1975-1980:    2.71 %   °°°°°°°      1980-1990:    2.35 %   °°°°           1990-1995:    2.32 %   °°°             Average household size 1990:     5.31 persons/household 1995:     5.07 persons/household Cebu, the fastest growing center of industry and trade outside the National Capital Region (NCR) registered the highest population among provinces with 2,921,145 persons. Two other provinces surpassed the two million mark:
