Connecting the Continent -
a live on-line event which was presented by the Centenary of Federation South Australia and Centenary of Federation Northern Territory
from 18 June to 1 July 2001.

This website is the legacy of that event and provides a unique snapshot of outback Australia.

The live event attracted 3.3 million hits from across Australia and around the world and featured lots of exciting live on-line elements -
- webcam broadcasts
- an exciting school activity program
- competitions with cool prizes
- live streaming of the School of the Air radio lessons
- more than seventy scheduled chats and forums

Most of these live activities have now closed - but don't go away!

There's still lots to see, hear and do while you enjoy the romance of the outback and the excitement of the information revolution
