Proportional Scrollbars

Problem

Lotus Notes doesn't display proportional scrollbars. Proportional scroll bars give the user an idea of how much of the document he or she is viewing based on the size of the window.

Analysis

Every application that has scrollbars should display proportional scrollbars. Even Windows Notepad uses proportional scroll bars.

User Interface Guideline Violations

• Not updating screen controls to make life easier for users.
• Forcing the user to deal with stupidity.

Conclusion

Lotus Notes sucks.
