FGCU women’s basketball has announced the entire 2012-13 schedule, a slate that features 14 home games, including UCF and LSU, road games at Charlotte, USF, Virginia Tech and Richmond, a tournament in the Virgin Islands, eight contests against teams that qualified for postseason play and six games against teams with a top-100 RPI.

Anthi Chatzigiakoumi, a sophomore forward on the FGCU women's basketball team, played a key role in helping the U-20 Greek National Team lay claim to the 2012 European Championship in Klatovy, Czech Republic. Greece clinched the Division B title with a 76-71 victory over hosts Czech Republic on Sunday, Aug. 26.

The FGCU women's basketball added to its banner 2011-12 campaign on Tuesday, this time for its efforts in the classroom as the 13-member squad's cumulative 3.474 grade-point average (GPA) landed the Eagles ninth on the final 2012 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division I Top 25 Team Honor Roll.

The DI-AAA ADA also honored Hansen as the Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year to highlight the Scholar-Athlete Team.
