JERUSALEM, Israel -- The following information was released by the Israeli Prime Minister's office:

The Israel State Archives is proud to present "Documentation on the Web", a new initiative for acquainting the public with its treasures. The Archives has approximately 400 million items, including documents, maps, stamps, audio tapes, video, special photographs and special publications. Under the initiative, every few days an item will be posted on the Archives website, accompanied by a brief explanation (in Hebrew). …
