Royal Brompton Hospital | Sleep Centre | Glass Artwork
PUBLIC BUILDINGS: Royal Brompton Hospital – Sleep Centre
Designed by the cartoonist and illustrator Steven Appleby, this tall glass screen with its flowing curved edge is part of the new research and treatment centre for sleep problems
In London’s Royal Brompton Hospital, the imagery is a collage of images: dreams; breathing; phases and difficulties of sleep. It is the centrepiece of the building, all of whose artwork, including murals and paintings is all the work of the one artist.
The work has been manufactured as a toughened and laminated glass with screen-printed enamels on the two of the four surfaces.
