Alternative routes for getting around MSM during the renovation of Neidorff-Karpati Hall

There are several routes we recommend for getting around the school while the lobby outside Neidorff-Karpati hall is closed due to construction. This lobby separates Anderson Hall from the main school building.Please check back here for updates!

– FYI, construction hours are approximately 7:00a.m. – 4:00p.m.; Monday through Friday
– As we navigate this exciting time at Manhattan School of Music during The Centennial Project, we recommend that those able to do so utilize the stairs when possible.

Recommended routes, and entrance hours:

To get to Ades Performance Space and Miller Recital Hall:

– Enter through 132 Claremont Avenue:
– Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 11:30 PM, on days when college or precollege classes are in session
– When events are open to the public in both
– This entrance is accessible for those with physical disabilities (ADA accessible).

Options to get from Miller Recital Hall or Ades Performance Space, to the Main building:

– Take Stairwell A in the main building to the 3rd floor
– Exit via the doors at 132 Claremont, turn left on Claremont, and left again on 122nd St to the main entrance with the red MSM awning
– Those requiring an ADA accessible route should exit through 132 Claremont, turn right, and enter using the building service entrance located just past 120 Claremont Avenue. Please use the buzzer to enter.

Options to get to and from Anderson Hall (location of most of the School’s administrative offices)

– Use the 4th floor corridor that connects Anderson Hall to the Main building
– Accessible Monday-Saturday, between 8AM and 6PM, on days when college or precollege classes are in session.
– At other times, please use the alternate routes for access to both the main building and Andersen Hall: the School’s main entrance at Broadway and 122nd Street, the entrances at 132 Claremont Avenue, or 134 Claremont Avenue.
– Those requiring an ADA accessible route should exit through 132 Claremont, turn right, and enter using the building service entrance located just past 120 Claremont Avenue. Please use the buzzer to enter.

Options to get from the main building to Andersen Hall:

– Exit the service door near the main building elevators and walk outside to 132 or 134 Claremont Avenue.
– From the 3rd floor in the main building, use Stairwell A near the library, to get to the 1st floor.
– Use the 4th floor corridor connecting Anderson Hall and the main building, between 8AM and 6PM on days when College or Precollege classes are in session.
– Those requiring an ADA accessible route should exit through 132 Claremont, turn right, and enter using the building service entrance located just past 120 Claremont Avenue. Please use the buzzer to enter.
