Arrow: Longtime Character Finally Gets His Comic Book Moniker

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Due Process," the latest episode of Arrow.
The KGBeast has officially arrived on Arrow. Though David Nykl's Anatoly Knyazev has been a part of the series since Season 2, he has never quite been referred to by his infamous moniker from the comics. In "Due Process," however, he referred to himself as the KGBeast in order to meet a fellow mobster.
After he was rescued from the Longbow Hunters by A.R.G.U.S., Anatoly found himself in custody. Felicity eventually persuaded him to help them out. After he reluctantly agreed, he found himself meeting up with a former associate in order to glean some information about the Ricardo Diaz's whereabouts.

At first, Anatoly was denied access to the mobster. "Tell your boss his old friend the KGBeast is here to see him," he said to the doorman. Shortly thereafter, his associate emerged from the building and welcomed him inside.
In the comics, of course, Anatoly has always been known as the KGBeast. Created by Jim Starlin and Jim Aparo in 1988's Batman #417, he was an assassin for a top-secret KGB cell. Unlike the version of the character that appears on the show, DC Comics' KGBeast is highly skilled in martial arts and has cybernetic enhancements.
Airing Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Colton Haynes as Arsenal, Kirk Acevedo as Diaz and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
