HHS Distance Learning Schedule
Important Information
about Coronavirus Disease 2019
A Message from Dr. James P. Doran,
Director of Personnel/Human Resources/Compliance
and Crisis Management for Harrison Public Schools
April 20, 2020
An important message to parents, staff, and students of the Harrison Public Schools:
As you know Governor Murphy’s Executive Order for Distance Learning will remain in effect until May 15th for all NJ Schools. In compliance, all Harrison Public Schools will resume Distance Learning mode on Monday, April 20th. Students will complete their lessons from home via teacher prepared learning packets, laptops, smartphones, or other internet-ready devices.
We are seeking the help of parents and guardians to assist children in completing lessons. Please keep in mind that the NJ Department of Education will only count these distance learning days as mandated school days when student attendance is taken by the teachers and evidence of student work is completed.
Throughout this Distance Learning period, FREE ‘grab-n-go’ breakfast and lunch will be served for ALL CHILDREN at Washington Middle School from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.
During this Distance Learning process, parents should contact the appropriate principal's office as needed regarding technology, health, and other support services. Child study team members and other related services staff will be contacting parents and students directly to arrange for additional services.
Again, all Harrison Public Schools will remain in Distance Learning mode from home for all students through May 15th.
On behalf of the Harrison Board of Education and Administration, we pray for, and offer our support for those who have been stricken with the CoronaVirus. We also encourage all to continue to practice shelter-in-place, social distancing and effective measures to avoid contracting the virus.
For further information please visit harrisonschools.org.
Thank You.
