John Wenlock, 1st Baron Wenlock was the son of William Wynell de Wenlock and Margaret Breton.1 He married Elizabeth Drayton, daughter of Sir John Drayton.1 He married, secondly, Agnes Danvers, daughter of John Danvers, circa 1467.1 He died on 4 May 1471 at Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England, killed in action.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire in 1433.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1444.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1450/51.1 He held the office of Speaker of the House of Commons in 1455.1 He gained the title of 1st Baron Wenlock in 1461. He fought in the Battle of Tewkesbury on 4 May 1471.1 On his death, his title became extinct.1
