Two Eurovision queens have been busy welcoming new arrivals lately. Finland’s Krista Siegfrieds and Malta’s Ira Losco have each celebrated the birth of baby daughters. The new arrivals were born only two days apart — almost making them Eurovision twins!
Ira Losco welcomes baby Gigi
Ira Losco — Malta’s star of Eurovision 2002 and 2016 — welcomed baby Gigi. It’s her first daughter and the second child for Ira and her husband Sean Gravina.
Ira shared a photo of her new arrival to Instagram, showing baby Gigi fast asleep. Ira wrote, “Gigi is doing great and I feel good just a bit groggy.” She playfully added, “LET THE GAMES BEGIN”.
Among the replies were well wishes from Maltese stars such as Gaia Cauchi and Destiny Chukunyere. Krista Siegfrieds also left a comment, saying “Oh so nice!!! Congratulations to the whole family!!!”
Ira gave birth to her first baby, Harry, in 2016. Ira had announced her pregnancy in Stockholm prior to her appearance in Eurovision 2016 — making it a very Eurovision baby!
Ira Losco is also celebrating a different type of new arrival. Ira features on the new single “In the Rain” by Maltese singer Matthew James. The song is a gentle folk-pop track about going with whatever life give you.
Krista Siegfrids welcomes baby Lizzy
Krista Siegfrids also welcomed a baby girl, her first child with her boyfriend “Mr Amsterdam”. She shared the good news on Instagram, joyfully writing, “Made in Helsinki born in Amsterdam! Say hi to our little daughter Lizzy van Nes. She arrived early in the morning on the 16th of November and since then we’ve been completely blown away by her presence. She is the absolutely sweetest thing we’ve ever seen.”
Krista was feeling the love, writing, “Can’t believe I have a little family now. What a blessing. Thank u life!”
Finland’s Eurovision 2013 singer and regular UMK presenter announced her pregnancy back in June, at the time saying “We are so happy and we can’t wait to meet Baby Amsterdam!”
With two musical mamas, these two babies are surely going to grow up learning from the best. And who knows — we might see them on stage at Eurovision in 16 years time!
The team at wiwibloggs wishes Ira, Krista and their families all the best!
