Season 11

Arena Season 11 (Cataclysmic) started on December 6, 2011, one week after patch 4.3.0 and the end of Season 10. It ended on August 29, 2012,[1] coinciding with the release of patch 5.0.4. The season lasted 38 weeks.
The season added new items that can be bought for 
[Conquest Points]; the Cataclysmic Gladiator item sets and the Elite Cataclysmic Gladiator item sets. The season also made Ruthless Gladiator items available for 
[Honor Points].

During the season there craftable Vicious items and an upgraded version of Ruthless gear, branded as "Season 11" instead of "Season 10", available.

- Popular 3v3 comps at the time included RLS, Triple DPS (mainly Retribution, Subtletly and Marksmanship) and LSD2 (Affliction, Restoration and Balance).
- During Season 11 many PvE items were very powerful. Some notable items include:
- With a duration of 38 weeks, the Cataclysmic season is the longest PvP season to date, tied only with Battle for Azeroth Season 4 (Season 28).
- On Cyclone, a battlegroup in EU, the rank 1 3v3 team comprised of famous arena players Raiku, Hydra and Mirlol was mysteriously disbanded days before the end of the season, with considerable debate in the community related to what may have transpired. This event is arguably the largest controversy that has ever occurred in the competitive WoW PvP community.
