The Veiled Stair is a mysterious region of Pandaria, located in the mountains between The Jade Forest, Valley of the Four Winds and Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The stair ultimately connects Valley of the Four Winds to Kun-Lai Summit via mountain passes and cave networks.
The stair begins with the Path of a Hundred Steps in the Grassy Cline of the Valley of the Four Winds, which leads up to the Tavern in the Mists. Behind the tavern, the path continues, forking in three directions. The left path, the Gate of Endless Spring, leads up to the Terrace of the Endless Spring raid entrance, the right pass leads to the Hatescale Burrow cave system, and the center path, the Spring Road, leads to a larger cave network, the Ancient Passage.
A mysterious organization known as The Black Market has established the Tavern in the Mists here. Wrathion can be found seeking refuge inside.
Follow the ancient passage to reach to Kun-Lai Summit, coming out at Binan Village. The branches to the east inside the ancient passage lead to a mountain pass leading up to the Secret Aerie.
History[]
The Veiled Stair was hand-chiseled by pandaren slaves during the third mogu dynasty. To the best of the pandaren's knowledge, this means the steps are over twelve thousand years old. The grummles believe that it is very lucky for travelers to count the steps as they ascend, but nobody has ever been able to agree on a definitive count.[2]
