Holz aus Vitudurum -Neue Entdeckungen in Oberwinterthur

De 2006 a 2009, le service archeologique du canton de Zurich a entrepris des fouilles de sauvetage sur une surface libre de construction d'environ 2600 m 2 , au coeur du vicus romain de Vitudurum. La zone exploree correspondait aux edifices et aux cours situes a l'arriere des bâtiments mis au jour a la Romerstrasse. Differentes constructions et des formes d'utilisation variees ont pu etre reconnues, reparties sur quatre parcelles. Une vingtaine de bâtiments etaient destines a l'habitat ou a une activite economique. A l'exception d'une seule construction en pierre du 2 e siecle apr. J.-C., toutes les maisons etaient construites en bois. Dans la partie sud de la zone fouillee, les couches d'epoque romaine atteignent 2 m d'epaisseur. On reconnait six horizons principaux, se succedant depuis les dernieres annees avant le changement d'ere jusqu'au 3 e siecle apr. J.-C. Alter Kaese? – Ein Bericht zum "eisenzeitlichen Schaukäsen" für Terra-X

Ab 2007 wurden im Silvrettagebiet hochalpine Hütten- und Pferchstrukturen dokumentiert (Forschungsprojekt Rückwege – Alpine Archäologie in der Silvretta / Archäologischer Dienst Graubünden). Anlässlich des „Tages der offenen Grabung“ im Fimbatal wurde 2009 durch Emanuela Jochum Zimmermann und Franziska Pfenninger vom Verein ExperimentA ein erstes Mal „Laugen-Melaun-Frischkäse“ hergestellt. Wie passend die Wahl dieses Themas gewesen war, zeigte der 2016 veröffentlichte Nachweis von Milchfetten auf spätbronzezeitlichen und eisenzeitlichen Keramikscherben aus hochalpinen Fundstellen, welcher ein grosses mediales Echo fand. Der vorliegende Artikel berichtet über die Entstehung des Online-Zusatzfeatures zur "prähistorischen Käseherstellung" im Rahmen von Filmaufnahmen zur Terra-X-Dokumentation „Die Alpen – Eine grosse Geschichte“ vom 7. bis 9. The following research project was triggered by the rediscovery of a mosaic allegedly found in the 1960s in the civilian settlement south of the Roman legionary fortress of Vindonissa and by an archival note on “micromosaics from the amphitheatre”. As a result, this paper briefly compiles and comments the hitherto known mosaic finds from ancient Windisch. The search for the “micromosaics” led to a remarkable piece of jewellery, whose own history of discovery and story represents a small piece in the jigsaw of the rich historiography on Vindonissa. A Roman intaglio of blue glass, showing the rare depiction of a signifer beside a horse, was found in Vindonissa in 2017 during an excavation south of the legionary fortress. The paper discusses the dating and the meaning of this extraordinary gem, beloging clearly to a military context.
Floristische Neufunde aus den Ostalpen
New records are reported for 21 mountain plant species from various parts of the Eastern Alps, mostly from Austria, but also from adjacent regions of Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland. Most of these species are new to one or several mountain ranges, among them Leucanthemum gaudinii and Poa laxa for the entire Northern Calcareous Alps, and Gentiana terglouensis for the central belt of the Eastern Alps. Agrostis schraderiana is for the first time recorded for Lower Austria, Leucanthemum gaudinii for Vorarlberg and Austrian Tyrol, and Draba ladina for Italy. The occurrence of Pedicularis rostratospicata subsp. helvetica in Austria is confirmed. The role of the new records for the specific distribution area and the ecological background are discussed, sometimes including taxonomic or conservational aspects.
