Frequently Asked Questions | ADAGP

If you are an association of artists and each artist creates his/her own work, each must join individually.

If you are a collective where each artist works on a collaborative creation, you must each complete a membership form as an individual artist, as well as a membership form on behalf of the collective, signed by all co-creators.

ADAGP will also need to know the share of ownership between members of the collective for each of the works produced in collaboration.

This allocation should normally correspond to to each co-creator's extent of involvement in the creation of the works concerned.

No legal text imposes any specific calculation method. The co-creators must therefore agree among themselves on the percentage split between them and inform ADAGP.

It is best to draw up a written agreement on the distribution of rights and royalties to avoid any later dispute.
