Review for the DVD box set barcoded 810017884957Some episodes are altered for songs, either shortened or not included altogether. The infamous episode with Marvin Hamlish the entire end credits scene is gone and the episode is 20 minutes flat. The living room scene where Richard plays piano is shortened. The 2 part final episodes of season 3 are re titled:Episode 25 is now "Caroline and The Secret"Episode 26 is now "Caroline and The Bullfighter"On most episode lists they are titled "Caroline and The Bullfighter" parts 1 & 2.No extras, episodes aren't even numbered, but they are in order and it's the best set we'll see.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars I love it but missing scenes.

Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2020

I loved Caroline in the City when it aired on tv and glad to have all seasons on dvd. My only concern, I noticed two episodes are missing scenes. In The Bitter Beast, the original ending had music composer Marvin Hamlisch dancing with Caroline & Annie as Richard sang and played the piano. Why did they leave it out?
In The Cold Sesame Noodles, the pianist Seth has a crush on Annie and Annie starts to feel the same way a little later on. The deleted scene was Annie singing "It had to be you" at the bar but it cuts off and goes straight to Richard, Julia and Caroline sitting at the table in the bar. Why did they do that? There might be other episodes with missing scenes but they seem to play okay but these two episodes I remember those scenes. However, I am happy with the dvd. I wish all dvds had a Bloopers & Gag reels, Behind the scenes look, & Commentaries.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars Bootlegs

Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2020

Why, and I cannot possibly express this enough with the level of incredulous hostility I feel at this moment, but again, WHY THE ABSOLUTE F would you dare sell me not one season but two at regular retail price knowing damn well they were bootlegs?!
I doubt I'd have noticed if Disc 1 had actually played.
    $75 total cash with s+/h.
    There are no words.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Happy it arrived before Christmas

Reviewed in Canada on December 27, 2020

This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. It was caught is the Christmas postal rush. I contacted the seller and he was very nice explaining the postal issues, promising a replacement if it didn't come by January 23rd. Luckily, that was not necessary. Happy with this seller's service. I will order again from them.

Même avec les deux nouvelles têtes la série ne perd rien de son rhytme. Droles et bien ficellés les épisodes donnent envie qu'on fasse une 4ème saison (please!!!!). A voir et à revoir

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Oops - they've done it again!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 6, 2007

I've thoroughly enjoyed the DVDs of this very entertaining series. If only they (the producers of the DVDs) could get the viewing order of the episodes right!

It's happened on all 3 series and will probably happen again on the 4th series. But this won't stop me buying it. The characters and storylines are hilarious and the Caroline / Richard story arcs of "Will they won't they" keep me glued to the screen. It's a shame I've only got 1 more series to go and that's it.

PS Does anyone have the correct running order for Series 3 and 4? I found the reviews for Series 1 & 2, with the correct running order, very useful.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest American comedy ???

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 25, 2009

This has to be the great , forgotten , American comedy series . I put it up there with "Friends" and "Dharma & Greg" . It's wonderfully written with great characters and will nor offend any member of your family .
