Arla - your global dairy company
Taking action for a better future
As Arla farmers we are dependent on nature and we have a responsibility for climate change. That’s why we are taking actions to improve how we farm and produce dairy for you and your family.
We inspire, push and reward each other to continuously do better. To reduce our carbon footprint. And improve protection of nature. Want to know more?
Rewarding farmers for climate activities
From August 2023, Arla farmers who are taking action to reduce their carbon footprint will be rewarded through our FarmAhead™ Incentive.
Together with our farmer owners, we’ve committed to reducing on-farm CO2e emissions per kilo milk by 30 per cent by 2030. Rewarding farmers for their climate activities is an important milestone towards accelerating CO2e reductions on farm.
In total, 500 million euro will be earmarked to motivating and rewarding Arla farmers for their climate action (based on our current milk pool).
Committed to limiting global warming to 1.5°C
In December 2021, we doubled our climate target for operations including owned logistics from 30 to 63 per cent. This target has been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative as consistent with reductions required in scopes 1 and 2 to keep global warming to 1.5°C. The most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement.
