Northamptonshire's Casualty Reduction Partnership has been formally disbanded.

The body was responsible for speed cameras in the county, which were all were switched off a week ago.

The county council has ended its £1m support for the partnership as part of a package of spending cuts.

Instead of the fixed cameras, police officers will use four mobile safety camera vans in areas where speeding is a concern.

They will also continue their Fatal Four campaign, tackling what they say are the four main causes of road accidents - driving under the influence of drink and drugs, using a mobile phone, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.
