The role of Women in McCain’s presidential campaignJohn McCain became only the second presidential candidate ever to pick a female running mate when he chose Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska. But women were highly visible at the Democratic National Convention in Denver when all eyes were on failed nominee Hillary Clinton and potential First Lady Michelle Obama.
