The iconic Pangu Plaza is located near to Beijing's "Bird's Nest" Olympic Stadium and the "Water Cube" National Aquatics Centre both built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Pangu Plaza was designed by the renown Taiwanese architect Li Zuyuan (aka C. Y. Lee), who was also responsible for Taipei 101 (the world's tallest skyscraper from 2004-2010), the Chung Tai Chan Monastery and the Post & Telecommunications Center in Tianjin.

The buildings of Beijing's Pangu Plaza resemble a dragon, with the highest skyscraper in the complex 192 meters tall with 39 floors above ground and 5 basement floors.

There are five buildings altogether in the Pangu Plaza complex, each lined with white granite.

The Pangu 7 Star Hotel has 234 luxurious guest rooms, with 140 suites also available. The walls are covered in silk and the floors are imported Italian marble.

There are great views of the Olympic Park from the Happiness Lounge. The hotel includes top-class French and Japanese restaurants. The cheapest lunch set in the sushi bar is around 265 USD, with the rice cooked in mineral water flown over specially from Japan.
