The Global Citizen Festival has been held in New York each year since 2012, and calls on music fans to take action on a slew of important issues to earn tickets to the show.

Global Citizen, the social advocacy group, hosts the fest each year to drive action toward its goal to end extreme poverty by 2030.

This year, so-called Global Citizens are urged to pressure decision-makers to help end child marriage, support family planning, promote women’s entrepreneurship and shine a light on workplace safety.

For the sixth straight year, MSNBC and Comcast NBCUniversal will air a live simulcast of the event on MSNBC, and Ken Ehrlich will produce.

Citi and Cisco will present the event, iHeartMedia is signed up as a media partner and the festival will be livestreamed on YouTube and Twitter. Live Nation returns for the fourth consecutive year as production partner.
