One of the best things about the Avengers is the variety of heroes who make up the group. Some are monumentally powerful, yet others rely more on bravery and skill than mind-numbing power.
These Avengers are the true MVPs of the team. It's hard to imagine the team succeeding with heroes willing to lay it all on the line, no matter how daunting the situation may be. They stand with the gods and all-powerful heroes, holding the line and proving power isn't everything. Sometimes all it takes is a little courage.

Black Panther may have it all, but that doesn't mean he's without fear. The heart-shaped herb gives him great strength and speed, he's impeccably trained, and his vibranium technology gives him loads of advantages over his foes, but he's not invulnerable. Black Panther's simply a genius who never gives up.
Black Panther's loss means more than just one hero dying. He is Wakanda, and they need him. His surety in his abilities has created a hero who sees courage as his second nature. Black Panther will throw himself into every situation, no matter how desperate, because he knows he'll get through it.
9 Mockingbird Depended On Her Skills And Nerve
Mockingbird made a name for herself at S.H.I.E.L.D. Injected with a variant on the super soldier serum, Agent Bobbi Morse became Mockingbird and joined up with the Avengers, eventually marrying Hawkeye and helping found the West Coast Avengers. She was the heart and soul of the team, never shying away from the frontline.
Mockingbird had some enhancements, including rapid healing, but she was only human. That never stopped her from throwing herself into battles that would've killed her a thousand times over. She survived every obstacle, including years in a Skrull prison, her courage getting her through it all.

Scarlet Witch can do just about anything she imagines, but that doesn't mean she lacks courage. Far from it, actually. To begin with, a person with a gun and some luck can end the Scarlet Witch. What truly marks Scarlet Witch as courageous, is her determination to face her inner struggles.
Scarlet Witch has faced her demons and sometimes failed, but she always came back and beat them. Her trauma never held her back. Whether facing inner obstacles or a world threatening crisis, Scarlet Witch refused to back down.

The Avengers have made a lot of mistakes over the years. Of the most damaging, Hank Pym takes much of the heat. A founding Avenger as Ant-Man, Hank created Ultron, and his own feelings of depression and inadequacy nearly consumed him. However, Hank always kept going, doing his best to be a hero.
Pym's powers weren't the most spectacular, even when he could grow bigger. He was never the strongest person on the Avengers, and his inner struggles gave him more battles to face. Even with all that, Hank never stopped fighting the good fight, defying any obstacle that got in his way.

The Wasp is an Avengers icon for many reasons. She helped found the team and proved she was just as capable as everyone else, if not better. Her powers weren't world-shattering, but she made up for it with tenacity and courage. She rose through the Avengers' ranks, eventually becoming Chairwoman, something many of her founder compatriots hadn't done at that point.
Even with her wasp sting and flight, Wasp's powers comprised growing smaller. She faced death several times, in ways few other members did, and never blinked. The Wasp became a legend more because of her bravery than anything else.

Few Avengers are scarier than Thor. His power and skill make him the greatest warrior in the Nine Realms, but his courage has played a huge role in that. Thor's battles, both on his own and with the Avengers, pit him against the most devastating foes imaginable. Thor faces ancient horrors and cosmic beings that eat gods for breakfast with a smile on his face and a hammer in his hand.
Thor brings that courage to every battle he engages. It can look easy to be courageous when someone is as powerful as Thor, but he's tasted death more than once and still keeps fighting. Thor is the God of Thunder, but he may as well be the God of Courage.

Black Widow isn't the strongest Avenger, but she has it where it counts. Long before she joins the Avengers, Black Widow takes courage to the next level, surviving the Red Room's torments and excelling as a spy. Her first forays into the superhero world pit her against Iron Man, and she never thinks twice about fighting him.
As an Avenger, Black Widow faces situations some heroes can't even fathom, yet her courage carries her through all of it. Her skills and tenacity keep her going when everything seems lost. Even when facing cosmic threats, Black Widow never blinks.

Sam Wilson is an amazing hero. Learning the ropes from Steve Rogers and joining the team as Falcon, the high-flyer made a name for himself, even though his only power was the ability to talk to birds. His courage was undeniable, something that only compounded when he became Captain America, taking up the shield and stepping into his mentor's shoes.
As Captain America, Wilson would lead the Avengers against many threats while forging his own path. He didn't have super soldier enhancements, just his boundless courage and skill. He later became Captain America once more, ready to battle every enemy in front of him.

Without a doubt, Captain America remains the most accomplished Avenger. The Sentinel of Liberty started fighting the good fight during WWII, battling against the worst odds imaginable to always triumph over his foes. His return in the present day saw him step into the Avengers like nothing had ever happened.
Captain America many have the super soldier serum, but his courage has always been his defining trait. This is a hero who stared down Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet and led the war against the Builders. Cap's courage knows no bounds.
1 Hawkeye's Courage Overshadows Every Other Avenger's
Hawkeye doesn't have any superpowers. He doesn't wear special armor, nor have the gods blessed him with unique gifts. Hawkeye has mastered one of humanity's oldest weapons, helping him survive countless battles against the worst enemies imaginable. He puts his body on the line day in and day out, and he does so with a grin.
If there's any Avenger who personifies courage, it's Hawkeye. He's thrown himself into battles he had no business winning and still came out the other side. Hawkeye even gains superpowers for a while, using Pym particles to become a new Goliath. He later gave that up, returning to his faithful bow and arrow. Hawkeye's the best of the best, all because of his courage.
