The Hub works closely with the Institut für Zeitgeschichte in Munich. We are very much looking forward to welcoming visitors in 2024!

A message from our patron: "Germany has been the central power in continental Europe since the late nineteenth century, but it has been a cultural powerhouse for over a millennium. From the Carolingian Renaissance to the Reformation, Enlightenment and beyond it has shaped the world in which we live and influenced the ways in which we think about, experience and seek to change it. To understand the world today, we must also understand Germany past and present. The DAAD is to be congratulated on founding this German Research Hub. It is palpable testimony to the fact that German Studies at Cambridge are pursued with the interdisciplinary breadth and historical depth that a deep understanding of Germany and its manifold complexities demand. I wish it every success. The gains in knowledge that it will bring can only enrich and strengthen the ties that bind Germany and the world."
