Disney+ confirms two episodes of The Mandalorian will be available on UK launch day

Disney+ UK's launch is finally less than a week away, and the new streaming service is finally sharing a bit more about its plans for releasing content over the next few weeks.

Disney has already given us a fair idea of what we can expect to see on the streaming service at launch, with over 500 films and more than 300 TV series available to watch from day one.

When it comes out to break-out Star Wars series The Mandalorian, however, UK subscribers can expect the series to roll out weekly.

The good news is, Disney+ UK will include two episodes of the series on the service at launch on Tuesday, March 24, and we don't have to wait too long for episode 3 either, as it'll premiere on Friday, March 27.

After that though, we'll be waiting a week for every new episode of The Mandalorian, with new episodes dropping every Friday at 8am.

Of course, viewers in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have already seen every episode of The Mandalorian's first season after Disney+ launched in those territories last year, which means this news will no doubt be a disappointment to UK viewers hoping they could binge-watch the entire series in one go.

Meanwhile, Disney+ will also host the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in the UK too, with episodes one and two available at launch.

The service will then release two episodes weekly from Friday, March 27 up until Friday, April 17, when the UK catches up to the US and Disney releases one episode every week to allow fans all over the world to watch the final episodes at the same time.

As for all the other Disney+ original series, including High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, the service will have episode one available to watch at launch, with new episodes releasing weekly.

Original films, like the live-action Lady and the Tramp, will premiere on the series on launch day too.

The Mandalorian season one is now available to stream in its entirety on Disney+ in the US. Disney+ UK launches on March 24, with The Mandalorian airing weekly from Friday, March 27.
