The McElroy Brothers Leave Polygon
- ️Sun Feb 08 2009
Over the last six years, the McElroys have been an increasingly popular name. Originally staff at Joystiq, Griffin and Justin McElroy would later help co-find video game news outlet Polygon. Though with their hands in many pies, they two have decided to resign from their position at the organization.
Griffin McElroy was a video producer for Polygon, responsible for such YouTube shows as Monster Factory, Car Boys, Touch the Skyrim, and more. In the last six or so years, he has grown to manage and produce several podcasts, including The Adventure Zone, a Dungeons and Dragons podcast that helped fuel the tabletop game's resurgence.
Justin took a role further from the limelight as weekend editor. He also used to be responsible for Quality Control, a Polygon sponsored podcast where he and a guest discuss their review of the latest video games.
Both brothers have since married and had children, ran their own television show, and even entered the voice acting game. Their decision to leave Polygon has been a long-discussed entirely in good faith.
Even if you aren't familiar with the McElroys, odds are you've seen (and enjoyed) their work. We wish them the best of luck in establishing a more relaxing future.
