This guide is extremely accurate. I'll give you a single example. My wife and I were in Hanoi on tour with a Globus group. A inane dinner was scheduled to satiate the mild palates of our fellow travelers. We decided to strike out on our own. We went to Cha Ca La Vong, the oldest restaurant in Hanoi, established in 1871 and has a street named after it (Cha Ca). The food and experience is etched in our memories for the rest of our lives. The hotels in Vietnam were described precisely. The lay of the land was right on.
This POS is such a far mimicry of Lonely Planet I throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I think about how I actually went to a country without a Lonely Planet! NEVER AGAIN

November 14, 2007Preparing for another trip to Vietnam. Will post my findings at a later date as to how helpful it is to American visitors.
Good information and reliable maps, but book would of been more well rounded with photos.
