Karthik was a rising star from the 90s . It's pretty obvious in this movie . Singapore born actress Ranjani has bold wide eyes to show her innocent village belle nature . Her father sees a groom for her but he is in military . she is scared of military men so she runs away from home . Karthik rescues her from villain Anandaraj. He takes her in his house for some time . She falls in love with him . but is not able to express. Soon she travels with him to her village where he was supposed to see the bride . Her father meanwhile has arranged for her younger sister Apoorva to be shown as the bride in her place . Apoorva sees Karthik and starts liking him . Karthik too gives his nod . Meanwhile Ranjani joins Karthik's house in Madras as a house keeper .His parents Manorama and Nambiar start liking her . When she realises that her own sister is now his bride ,she tries to consume poison. the story comes out at this junction. Finally the younger sister Apoorva lets go in favour of Ranjani . Karthik is on top as the hero caught between two women and a doting son . Apoorva is cute .Manorama's character is deaf and her family keeps making fun of her .That was insensitive . Our movies should stop making fun of physical handicaps . Over all a nice family viewing .
