Battleship is a 2012 American science fiction film directed by Peter Berg (The Kingdom) and is loosely based on the famous Hasbro board game. The film follows US naval forces as they must repel an alien invasion that has begun from the Pacific Ocean. The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna, and Liam Neeson and was made with the cooperation of the Department of Defense and the US Navy, and several scenes were filmed aboard active US Navy destroyers and aircraft carriers.

This angle gives a good view of how the spent brass from the M2 falls out the bottom of the weapon instead of being spat out the side as with most machine guns.

Barrett M82A1
Captain Yugi Nagata (Tadanobu Asano) and Lieutenant Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch) use Barrett M82A1 rifles to engage the third alien vessel.
Phalanx CIWS
Nearly all the ships in the film can be seen fitted with Phalanx CIWS (Close In Weapons System) installations. When the alien ships launch an attack, the USS John Paul Jones is seen using the Phalanx to defend against the incoming projectiles.
Phalanx Block 1B CIWS - 20x102mm. This is the current version which has a set of Optimised Gun Barrels (OGB) to increase accuracy and longevity, and Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) which enable the CIWS to engage targets with a low radar observability and surface targets.
