Demolition Man is a 1993 science-fiction action film starring Sylvester Stallone as John Spartan, a Los Angeles cop with a reputation for destruction who in the then future year of 1996 is found guilty of a crime he didn't commit and is subsequently sentenced to be frozen in a cryogenic prison along with his nemesis Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes). Spartan is then revived in the year 2032 and finds himself in the utopian city of San Angeles when Phoenix escapes. Spartan is then asked by the San Angeles police force to use his old school tactics to take down his archenemy. The film's cast also includes Sandra Bullock, Benjamin Bratt, and Denis Leary. The film is notable for featuring one of the first and possibly only appearance of the Heckler & Koch G11 in live action, an experimental rifle at the time that was portrayed as futuristic magnetic pulse rifle.

The following weapons were used in the film Demolition Man:

Handguns

Beretta 92FS

During the 1996 prologue, LAPD officer John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone), aka "The Demolition Man", carries only his LAPD standard-issue Beretta 92FS as he jumps from an LAPD helicopter onto the roof of the building Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) is holed up in. He also later uses one in his battle with Phoenix in the cryo prison. The Beretta used in the movie is the same one that Cinema Weaponry (the movie's armorers) originally acquired for use by Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2; it was also used by Bruce Willis in Die Hard 2. (NOTE: Long Mountain Outfitters inaccurately claimed on their web site that this pistol was actually the earlier Beretta 92F used in both 1987's Lethal Weapon and 1988's Die Hard; this is inaccurate, as Stembridge Gun Rentals supplied the weapons for those films, while Cinema Weaponry supplied the guns for this film. However, Cinema Weaponry later acquired a portion of Stembridge's Title I inventory in 2000, after the company went out of business.)

Spartan questions Phoenix about the whereabouts of the hostages, the Beretta 92FS still trained on him.

Close-up of the Beretta - Spartan prepares to fire, but Phoenix quickly points out that he is standing in a sea of gasoline. And Phoenix just happens to have a blowtorch handy. (Also note the continuity error here; Spartan cocks the hammer on the Beretta even though it was already visibly cocked when he entered the room.)

After reloading and hitting the slide release, Spartan unnecessarily racks the slide, ejecting the round in the chamber.

Beretta 92FS Inox

In the future world of San Angeles, Spartan is seen using a Beretta 92FS Inox, as identified by its slide-mounted safety, as his main sidearm. He retrieves it from the Hall of Violence during his shootout with Phoenix. He uses it most notably to shoot up the display screens and one of the ticket-dispensing machines in the office of Dr. Raymond Cocteau (Nigel Hawthorne). Spartan's Beretta Inox is also held on him by one of the wasters after he is captured. This is most likely the same Beretta Inox that Cinema Weaponry (the movie's armorers) originally acquired for The Last Boy Scout.

IMI Desert Eagle Mark VII

Among the weapons used by the people living in the San Angeles sewer system is a Desert Eagle Mark VII.

Smith & Wesson 3913NL

A Smith & Wesson 3913 is used by Phoenix, Spartan, and one of Phoenix's "CryoCons" Adam (Jesse Ventura).

Closeup. The Smith & Wesson logo is clearly visible but the "Lady Smith" inscription is absent which is indicative of the Smith and Wesson Model 3913NL "No Logo" or "Non-LadySmith".

Smith & Wesson 3914

During the final shootout in the cryo-lab, Spartan is seen dual-wielding the Beretta 92FS and what appears to be a Smith & Wesson 3914. This pistol is also used briefly in the museum shootout by Phoenix, dual-wielded along with his Smith & Wesson 3913NL.

Smith & Wesson Model 686 Snub

Spartan uses a snub-nosed Smith & Wesson Model 686 during the final shootout in the lab, which is given to him by Edgar Friendly (Denis Leary). The same weapon is also briefly used by Lenina Huxley (Sandra Bullock), and also by a Phoenix henchman early in the film.

One of the outcasts aims his Smith & Wesson Model 686 at Spartan, with Jack Black in the back ground.

Lenina points the gun at John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) but really shoots Danzig (Billy Lucas), one of Simon Phoenix's henchmen.

Cobray M11/9

Several Cobray M11/9s are among the weapons procured by Phoenix from the museum. One of these weapons is later used by Phoenix to shoot at Spartan during the final scene in the cryo-lab.

Heckler & Koch MP5K

A Heckler & Koch MP5K is used by one of Phoenix's men at the beginning of the film. Phoenix also acquires a number of MP5Ks from the museum armory in 2032, which are used by henchmen, as well as Phoenix himself.

A thug employed by Phoenix fires at Spartan down an elevator shaft.

Heckler & Koch MP5KA4 (fitted with PDW folding stock)

In the museum shootout, one of the weapons used by Phoenix is a Heckler & Koch MP5K fitted with a PDW folding stock (though it is not a genuine MP5K-PDW, as evidenced by the lack of an extended barrel). This MP5K appears to be the KA4 variant, because in some scenes, it appears to have the 4-position lower receiver unit. The same gun is also used by the first henchman killed by Spartan at Phoenix's hideout in 1996.

Heckler & Koch MP5A2

A Heckler & Koch MP5A2 is seen used briefly during the fight at the museum.

(Customized) Heckler & Koch MP5

Phoenix's henchmen are armed with a strange-looking Heckler & Koch MP5 variant that has a distinctive square-shaped flash hider fitted on the end of the barrel, an MP5SD-type hand guard, and a stockless buttcap. It appears twice in the film, first in 1996 (it's fired by the second henchman that John Spartan kills after rappelling from the helicopter), and later by another goon in 2032 during the underground shootout. This MP5 was originally built by Cinema Weaponry for the Albert Pyun movie Nemesis (1992) and along with Demolition Man, it was also later re-used in Executive Decision.

Rifles

"Magnetic Accelerator" Rifle (Heckler & Koch G11 mockup)

During the museum shootout, Phoenix wonders, "Wait a minute, this is the future. Where are all the phaser guns?" So he finds a futuristic particle beam gun which is called a "Magnetic Accelerator". This rifle in reality appears to be the Heckler & Koch G11 fitted with a laser sight and other embellishments. Since the actual G11 was in the experimental stage at the time, this rifle was actually a mockup cast from a real G11 prototype that was briefly loaned to the production.

The AC556K is seen on the table while Phoenix explains to the defrosted criminals that they finally have a chance to get even with John Spartan. The thug on the right next to the Ruger is Billy Lucas, a friend and stunt-double to Arnold Schwarzenegger.

One of Phoenix´s men fires his AC556K at Spartan and officer Huxley.

Norinco Type 56-1

The Chinese Norinco Type 56-1 is used by Phoenix to execute all the workers in the cryoprison.

FN FAL 50.61

During the opening sequence in 1996, John Spartan takes out one of Phoenix's henchmen who is firing an FN FAL 50.61 Paratrooper at the LAPD from the window of the gang's hideout. This weapon is also later visible in the museum armory in the Hall of Violence.

Other

Type 90 Double Barreled Flare Pistol

Edgar Friendly (Denis Leary) is seen using a double barreled pistol as his weapon of choice. According to Long Mountain Outfitters, the weapon is a Japanese double-barreled flare pistol, possibly a 28mm Kayaba Type 90 Signal Pistol, adopted by Japanese Imperial Navy in 1930.

Friendly fires the pistol.

"Hall of Violence" Armory

In the future, Phoenix visits the "Hall of Violence", which numerous other handguns, rifles and machine guns (apparently along with copious amounts of spare ammunition) are displayed for the citizens. Both Phoenix and Spartan procure their old-school weapons from this armory. (All weapons only seen in the armory and not actually used by the characters will be put here.)

IMI Uzi

A IMI Uzi is among the firearms on display in the museum's armory.

Gatling Gun

A Gatling Gun is prominently displayed in the hall next to various cannons.

Various Weapons

Two Colt Single Action Army revolvers are seen on the Wild West mannequin as Phoenix enters the armory.

In addition to the M1928A1 Thompson being held by the figure in the pinstripe suit right above him, Phoenix is seen looking at what appears to be a shorthand history of U.S. infantry rifles, with the Henry Rifle, Winchester lever-action rifle, a Springfield 1873 "Trapdoor" Carbine, an M1903 Springfield, an M1 Garand, and a post-war M1 Carbine.

There appears to be here a good H&K representation in the armory. The weapons are (from top to bottom): An MP5A2, an MP5K with PDW stock, MP5A3, Steyr AUG, Uzi, Ruger AC556K, two sawed-off shotguns (possibly the Remington 870 used by Phoenix), a regular MP5K, FN FAL 50.61, and HK21.

A G3, an AKM, an M16, FN FAL's and on the far right, an M11/9.

Several revolvers and automatic handguns are seen at the bottom, including a Glock and a Walther PPK (stainless).

An MG42 and a Lewis gun are seen.

In a very brief shot from the museum an FN FNC is seen second from the top. Note the curved magazine.
