Opie, by Hank P. Meyer
'Opie Krijgt Zijn Zeehond Terug'.

Hank P. Meyer (or Meijer) was the artist of the newspaper strip 'Opie de Eskimo', which appeared in Dutch newspapers by the 1940s. It was reprinted from between 25 May 1963 until late 1965 in newspaper Het Vrije Volk, and also in the Belgian newspaper La Libre Belgique. The comic followed the adventures of Opie, a small Eskimo boy, his seal Tapik and his girlfriend Jasmijn. Each separate adventure consisted of about 18 episodes, and was written by Meyer's wife Cornelia Meyer.

Meyer has also made political drawings for newspapers, technical drawings for the Ministry of Defence, as well as illustrations for novels, educational books and children's books, including those from the British 'Noddy' series. Mayer, who passed away in 2003, also worked under the pen name AMBO.
