Alexander Zverev may have suffered torn ligaments

Germany's Alexander Zverev, who set off for his home in Monte Carlo on Saturday, said that early tests show he may have "several torn ligaments" in his right ankle.

The injury would force him to miss most of the American hard court tour, which culminates with the US Open in late August/early September.

Zverev suffered the injury during Friday's semifinal battle with Rafael Nadal during the latter stages of the second set.

The German has already confirmed that he will miss the grass portion of the tour, which begins with the Halle Open on June 13. It means he will also miss out this year's Wimbledon.
