Duurzaam Engels – SWM

The Djame Masdjied Taibah Mosque is located in Amsterdam Zuidoost and wants to become the first energy neutral mosque in the Netherlands. The mosque has already installed solar panels, a heat pump as well as LED lighting and now plans to completely phase out gas.

The goal of providing a sustainable, future-proof mosque for the next generation is supported by the Islamic faith’s teaching that natural resources should not be wasted and by the long-term financial benefits to the mosque community.

Taibah Mosque aims to be a leader in the energy transition by engaging its community to participate in this sustainable development and to extend the energy transition to other mosques.
