Aquaman is as concerned with scientific accuracy as “SpongeBob Squarepants.” And that’s one of many reasons why I like it.

The glee that director James Wan clearly has playing in the world of Aquaman is infectious. He’s made a movie for both types of 10-year-olds: literal kids and those who are 10 at heart. Aquaman is one hell of a popcorn movie.

Aquaman is a pure piece of bright, ridiculous spectacle, hammering its Saturday morning cartoon sensibilities down its audience’s throat with a huge, cheesy grin on its face.

A superhero movie with the scope of an epic but the spirit of a mischievous boy, Aquaman is a goofy, uneven adventure that proudly sticks to its loopy vision even if it doesn’t quite work.

This visually clumsy and gauche, but spectacular, movie knows what it wants to be when it grows up for better or worse.

For all its sporadic wackiness and wonder, on balance Aquaman still comes out a bore. But they’ve given it a heroic shake.

Aquaman continues to revel in the outdated 1970s superhero ideal that mankind is unquestionably worth saving. Add to that some awkward dialogue, a poorly conceived visual effects palette, and a soul-crushing and bladder-crushing 139-minute run time, and you have another disappointing entry in the DC Comics cinematic universe.

I think this is one of those blindspot movies? I have a ton of fun with and people who I trust say it's kind of bad. I really liked dude bro and his famlies arc for sure. The fantastical and beautiful undersea enviroment was cool. Not many films do undersea action and not since Pandora I have I gone oh wow look at all that. Fun feel good family movie for sure. Rewatched this one to a silly amount by now.

I felt it really knew how to bring and combine the 2 worlds Earth and Atlantis together to bring a solid start to the Aquaman era. I really thought this movie really did swim the ludacrist excitement as I found Aquaman really badass and robotic.

It’s okay, but the goofiness and the clichés kind of go crazy in this movie.

I've tried several times to get through this movie with no luck. I fall asleep. Jason Momoa is uninteresting in everything, but in this, he is extremely uninteresting.

Aquaman is a broodish, miserable entry in DC's catalog. It's overlong, overstuffed, filled with poor acting, silly dialogue, features two leads who share about as much chemistry as water and oil, but worst of all, it's simply no fun. Furthermore, like every major studio release these days, this is yet another film that ends with a giant Lord of the Rings-esque CGI battle that never wants to end.
