REVIEWS
Review by Johnnie Tigner (posted on 18-May-2007)
I have shown this movie in all of my 7th grade Social Studies classes. I have asked students to identify the life lessons Loretta's story had taught them. The theme that runs through their responses are: The willingness to pursue a goal/dream. to get back in the race when life sends you a curve ball, to persevere and not give up. They also talked about treating everyone with respect regardless of their special needs. I have been touched by her life and in my small way I have paid it forward. This is one of those movies a parent can watch along with their child and talk about tough love and how consistency and behavioral shaping is a positive part of parenting. This movie to me has a big slice of life and this is one mivie I don't tire of watching over and over.
