A young Kirk Douglas is a U.S. Marshal who has stopped a lynching and promises to deliver a suspected murderer, a cattle rustler played by Walter Brennan, to the nearest court of competent jurisdiction, which happens to be across the desert. Certain parties do not want this to happen. Film drags a little bit, Walter Brennan is outstanding; excellent western scenery.
