Love Me Tender

Love Me Tender (15-Nov-1956)

Director: Robert D. Webb

Writers: Robert Buckner; Maurice Geraghty

Music: Lionel Newman

Producer: David Weisbart

Three of the Reno brothers fight for the Confederacy and before news of the war's end arrives, they help rob a Union Army train of a $12,000 payroll. Elvis plays the one brother, Clint, who stayed home in Texas; brother Vance is reported killed in action and Clint marries his former girlfriend. But then all brothers including Vance return home safely. Decent western programmer repurposed for Elvis' film debut at the request of Colonel Tom Parker.
